Job Summary -
The Analyst 1 plays a crucial role in supporting a regulatory board by reviewing licensure applications, permits, and certifications to ensure accuracy, eligibility, and compliance with relevant laws and policies. This position requires strong decision-making, problem-solving abilities, and extensive communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- **Licensing & Certification:**
- Review and evaluate applications for licensure, permits, and certifications to ensure compliance with established laws and board policies.
- Recommend approval or rejection of applications based on policy guidelines.
- Manage reciprocity requests, renewals, and maintain accurate records of certifications and licenses.
- **Problem Solving:**
- Issue licenses and resolve licensure-related issues following board policies and procedures.
- **Information Processing:**
- Accurately enter, update, and maintain applicant data, payment records, and other necessary documentation.
- Prepare, review, and submit reports for the board on licensure activity, compliance issues, and other relevant topics.
- **Communication:**
- Respond to inquiries, complaints, and provide detailed information to applicants, the public, and other stakeholders.
- Notify applicants of examination results, licensure status, and provide guidance on the application process.
- **Scheduling:**
- Coordinate and schedule board meetings, hearings, and applicant interviews.
Qualifications:**
- **Education:**
- High school diploma (or equivalent) with 4 years of relevant experience in management, administrative support, or clerical roles.
- **Substitution:** College coursework can substitute for experience, with a maximum of 4 years substituted.
- **Experience Alternative:** 1 year of experience as a Regulatory Board Administrative Assistant 1 in Tennessee may be accepted in lieu of other qualifications.
- **Skills & Competencies:**
- Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to learn and use technical systems quickly.
- Knowledge of clerical procedures, grammar, and basic math.
