Position Summary:

Raytheon Missile Defense (RMD) is currently seeking an HR professional for the position of Associate Director, Compensation . In this position you will plan, communicate and administer Raytheon’s Annual Compensation Planning global programs to include base pay and variable pay plans. This role will lead a team of compensation professionals within RMD Total Rewards and will require partnerships with HR and cognizant business unit leaders and Enterprise Compensation team to develop pro-active approaches to attract, retain and motivate employees in support of Company and business unit strategies and goals.

The primary work location will be Tucson, AZ or Tewksbury, MA, and offering a hybrid work arrangements.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Lead a team of compensation professionals in the execution of global compensation strategies, operations and projects
  • Organize team roles and perform employee reviews and assessments with a focus on development of skills
  • Report to upper-level management on status and performance
  • Provides governance, guidance and recommendations to ensure all local market pay is aligned to Raytheon’s enterprise market survey capabilities and positioning strategy and growing global market presence - anticipating future requirements
  • Perform job analysis, ensuring compliance with job structures, company policies, compensation governance and all federal and state laws and with the regulatory requirements in the non-US countries where we do business
  • Compile and analyze internal HR data and compensation market surveys to effectively benchmark programs and practices in the countries where we do business
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, HR, and business unit leaders to establish equitable salary rates within the global organization, balancing internal equity, external market, compliance and budget considerations
  • Lead special projects, collaborate with other HR experts on internal and external audits and serves as a subject matter expert on all other compensation related programs and/or issues impacting business
  • Matures annual compensation planning in international locations
  • Ensure that compensation programs are properly implemented and executed
  • Educates the HR organization and managers on compensation programs and total rewards philosophy to ensure optimal understanding and effective use of such programs

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • University degree and 12 years of directly related work experience or an advanced degree and 10 years’ experience.

  • Compensation fundamentals including experience in salary administration, job classification
  • Experience with Job Evaluation, Market Pricing, Survey submission and analysis of results
  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable labor laws and regulatory requirements in the countries where we do business
  • Excellent team building skills, self-motivated with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Creative problem solver with strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-up skills
  • Must have strong communication skills to include verbal, written, and interpersonal
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of the HR strategic partnership in driving business results
  • Ability to influence and manage change with a passion for HR and a proven track record
  • Must be able to work with all levels of the organization and handle high levels of confidentiality
  • Must work well independently and with a team with a high level of responsibility and confidentiality and navigate effectively in matrix environments
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Workday and Qlik
  • Experience with labor unions
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation
  • Experience in the defense industry
  • Familiar with Raytheon Policies and Procedures
