The Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance Systems (ISRS) Engineering Center has an immediate leadership opportunity for an experienced Lateral Test Department Manager (DM). The DM is responsible for the technical performance and career development of a 60-person team, chartered with maintaining compliant operation of all test assets and laboratories within the ISRS business unit. The role entails providing assurance the needed assets, laboratory workspace and personnel are “audit ready, every day”. The laboratories span the Dallas and McKinney, Texas work sites. The DM will report to the ISRS Systems Engineering Director and actively participate as a member of the Directorate.

Required Skills:
Minimum of 12 years of laboratory management and/or integration and test experience including 10 years of demonstrated competence in the motivation and development of direct staff reports.
Prior participation in laboratory audit preparation and execution, such as through AS-9100.
Prior experience managing department / laboratory budgets.
Prior leadership experience and strong written and oral communication skills - including presentation preparation and delivery - and demonstrated problem solving, organization, coordination, and planning skills.
Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with all levels of the organization.
An active and in-scope DOD Secret US security clearance is required.
Requires occasional travel to suppliers and to remote sites
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with asset / inventory tracking and control.
Experience in the creating and configuration control of process standards, including calibration test procedures.
Experience in the drafting, authoring and approval of engineering bids / basis of estimates (BOEs).
Strong track record of performing tasks independently and within schedule and budget.
Experience performing functional management activities including staffing, conducting performance reviews and career discussions, participating in compensation discussions, and flowing communications/information from higher levels down to section members.
Required Education: Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline such as Engineering, Physics, Math, System Engineering; an advanced STEM degree is preferred but not required.
