We are seeking an Art Director who can help us execute cutting edge design thinking for one of today’s top automotive clients. We are looking for someone who’s fast, collaborative, and who’s bread and butter is creating emotive and compelling work for digital experiences. A passion for design, storytelling, and bringing content to life is a must. A passion for cars and working knowledge of AEM and design systems are added bonuses.
You’ll be joining a diverse design team, becoming an important cog in a fine-tuned machine. That means working hand in hand with copywriter and designer partners to create world class imagery and layouts for a high traffic automotive brand website.
In terms of experience, we’d like an art director with some miles on them. Nothing that you wouldn’t want to see on your odometer, but definitely enough know-how when it comes to seeing a project through to the finish line with minimal oversight.
Responsibilities:
- You’re a creative with chops in art direction and can work well with CD/ACDs/Senior Designers/UX Designers
- You have a digitally-focused design portfolio that can make a CD stop looking at any other portfolios
- You have experience directing CGI artists and photographers
- You have experience working with scalable and responsive design systems
- You can turn ugly ducklings into swans in Photoshop
- You can edit video
- You can prototype visual designs using Adobe XD
- You require little hand-holding and can self-manage. Back-seat drivers are not something you depend on.
- You’re able to iterate in a fast-paced, 0 to 60 in 2.5s kind of environment
- You possess communication and presentation skills that articulate thoughts, design choices and innovative ideas
- You’re familiar with website accessibility standards
- You actively participate in brainstorms and other idea-generating team sessions
- You’re someone who accepts and provides constructive feedback, because you’re always looking to improve your craft and the craft of those around you
- You ensure everyone is always up to speed so you find ways to make complex information and interactions as simple as possible
- You absorb, adapt and convey brand aesthetic
- Packaging up assets for delivery is like a Sunday drive for you
- You get that a machine is greater than the sum of its parts, meaning you can work well as a team member of a large account, and understand how an interactive team operates and what is expected in critiques and team meetings
- Research and preparation of presentation materials
- You have a strong grasp of the latest and emerging technologies, design trends and techniques
Qualifications:
- 3-5 year experience with strong, focused portfolio with examples of art direction, original thought, and execution is a MUST. Motion graphic examples are a PLUS.
- High attention to detail in their work.
- Contemporary design style (staying up to date with current design trends)
- Work is heavy in mobile/responsive web design
