Summary/Objective:

RDP&P is a fast-paced, team-environment kind of company that is growing and hiring quickly. We are a custom metal fabrication shop that works on anything from structural pedestals for the semiconductor industry to handrails for local colleges. We have two locations in Oregon: one in the heart of Forest Grove and one in Joseph. Our Forest Grove shop focuses on raised floors/pedestals and miscellaneous steel fabrication. Our Joseph shop is a smaller scale than the Forest Grove shop.

We are looking for a dedicated employee to fill our Metal Fabrication Quality Control Tech position. The candidate will need to have experience welding in a metal fabrication shop environment. The tech will ensure product conformity. Duties may include studying blueprints, analyzing parts that make up the final product, and ensuring proper measurements are taken to certify products that meet customer expectations and company standards. The candidate will maintain quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products, and recording the results. Excellent communication and leadership skills are a must, as well as a keen attention to detail. If you enjoy being a welder/fabricator but want to expand to the next level, this job may be for you. Any extra time in your day will be spent as a fabricator fitting and welding jobs as part of the team.

Duties Include:

  • Administers programs and processes to ensure production quality standards are consistently met in all metal fabrication manufacturing processes.
  • Inspects and tests related production processes for quality assurance and compliance with standards and specifications for all metal fabrication.
  • Maintains records for the efficient operation of the RDF&P Quality System.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the members of the QC Team.
  • Assists QC Manager in maintaining records of Internal and External Audits and Quality Inspection visits.
  • Prepares quality documents and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.
  • Assists in the maintenance of original sets of policies and procedures, plus updating them as needed.
  • Proactively assist our shop and/or Project Managers in seeking solutions to prevent problems or mistakes.
  • Supports shop quality initiatives as needed.
  • Updates job knowledge by studying trends and developments in metal fabrication quality management; reading professional publications; and maintaining personal networks.
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment:
Office and Shop-The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high and appropriate attire is required.

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds throughout the day.
  • Able to use hand tools and other production equipment as needed.
  • Ability to bend over, crawl underneath, crouch beside, or climb over work projects.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time during the day.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday with possible mandatory overtime when needed. The schedule may vary.
