- Talent Acquisition:
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract qualified laborers and equipment operators
- Source candidates through various channels including job boards, social media, industry networks, and employee referrals
- Screen resumes, conduct phone interviews, and schedule in-person interviews with hiring managers
- Candidate Engagement:
- Build and maintain a pipeline of potential candidates for current and future job openings
- Develop strong relationships with candidates to understand their skills, experience, and career goals
- Provide a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process
- Job Advertising:
- Create compelling job postings that accurately reflect the responsibilities and requirements of each role
- Post job openings on job boards, and social media platforms
- Monitor the effectiveness of job postings and adjust strategies as needed
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with division managers and the HR manager to understand staffing needs and project requirements
- Provide regular updates on recruitment progress and candidate pipelines
- Assist in coordinating interviews and feedback sessions with hiring managers
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all recruitment activities comply with company policies and legal regulations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of candidate interactions and hiring processes
- Prepare and present reports on recruitment metrics and activities
- Onboarding Support:
- Assist the HR assistant with the onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition for new hires
- Collaborate with HR and operations teams to facilitate training and orientation programs
- Proven experience as a recruiter, preferably in the construction, utility, or oil and gas sectors
- Strong knowledge of laborer and equipment operator roles and requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems (ATS)
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Excellent “soft skills”, ability to speak to people of all walks of life with respect
- Familiarity with local labor market trends and regulations
- Previous experience using social media, ATS, and other tools necessary for recruiting
- Previous customer service or other direct “working with the public” roles
