Pharmacy Aide:
We are looking to hire a successful candidate who can assist with activities in the pharmacy department including the preparation of prescription helping to maintain the actual day to day business of the department in a manner consistent with corporate policies and federal laws. Pharmacy assistant needs to refill request over the phone, obtain health information, perform computer data entry, gather medication for use in prescription preparation, order medications and process received orders, assist in maintaining pharmacy departments records, assist the patient in locating over the counter medication, ring purchases on the cash register, perform housekeeping of pharmacy department space. They need to assist with the technical functioning of dispensing prescriptions assists as appropriate in the delivery of pharmacy services and participate in the maintenance and operation of the pharmacy as prescribed by the pharmacy standard of practice.

The pharmacy aide is responsible for assisting the patient in setting up prescription filling.

Responsibilities of the pharmacy aide include the following:
Pharmacy Aide Responsibilities and Duties:
- Greeting customers promptly and gathering prescription information according to standard operating procedures
- Perform duties in priority according to the role assigned on role assignment schedule
- Refer to the pharmacist all clinical inquiries related to medication purpose, use and recommendations, disease and conditions, professional fees and other inquiries as required by law or company policies
- Locate and cash out the prescription and any ancillary items as per standard operating procedures
- Provide accurate information in response to customer inquiries
- Resolve customer issues according to established standard ensuring apt intervention by the pharmacist
- Draw customer attention to literature or information as required
- Ensure customer require counseling and refer them to the pharmacist promptly
- Manage customer inquiries both in-person and through phone
- Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer.
- Represent the Company in a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with patient s.
The following functions require the professional judgment of a pharmacist and may not be performed by a pharmacy aide:
- Take a prescription order over the phone
- Certification of filled prescriptions
- Weighing or measuring active drug ingredients without verification by a pharmacist.
- Reconstitution of prefabricated medication without verification by a pharmacist.
- Entry of orders into the computer system without verification by pharmacist.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Effective interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
- Must possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar field
- Self-motivated and strong analytical skills
- Attention to detail, prioritization skill and time management
- Quick learner with a positive attitude
- Possessing project management skill, analytical skill
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skill
- Exceptional customer service skill with a talent for building customer loyalty
- Retail experience as an asset
- Able to respect the confidentiality of patient information
- Able to interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instruction

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $11.00 - $14.50 per hour
