WHAT YOU’LL DO
Responsible for leading the monthly/quarterly close process and coordinating and reviewing the work of certain accounting directors and global support teams. Responsible for accounting for end-to-end revenue process (quote to cash) inclusive of financial reporting disclosures, deferred revenue and related analytics. Responsible for review and enhancement of global accounting policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of RealPage’s global accounting operations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the monthly/quarterly accounting close process, coordinating the work of various directors to meet defined close timelines
- Champion the continuous review and modification of the close process and accounting procedures to enhance accuracy and completeness and eliminate rework. Lead the team in identifying, assessing and mitigating risks that could lead to accounting error or loss of operational effectiveness
- Team with other accounting leaders in the assessment and implementation of new tools/systems to improve the efficiency of the accounting process
- Manage individuals directly and through matrix relationships, while overseeing the end-to-end revenue recognition process inclusive of reserves and deferred revenue. This will include a focus on controls, analytics and reconciliations.
- Work to continuously improve the end-to-end revenue process and assist with efforts to simplify
- Coordinate effective completion of audit fieldwork and interact with external audit firm, particularly in the areas of accounting policy and revenue recognition
- Work with internal legal, HR, FPA and operational teams and executive management to support CFO and Controller on special initiatives as needed
- Assist with acquisition accounting as needed and actively support the integration of newly acquired subsidiaries
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA required and in good standing
- Minimum of 10 years significant supervisory experience
- A combination of “Big Four” public accounting experience and public company experience is highly preferable
- Substantive experience in revenue accounting, technical accounting and financial close and reporting
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic organization requiring flexibility and commitment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Initiative and ability to work independently given general guidelines of goals
- Experience with ERP implementations a plus
