The P&C Generalist will play a key role in shaping the future of the culture in our organization. The Generalist will directly contribute to the People & Culture department's long-term strategy mainly as a business partner to the Academy's affiliated entities. Specifically, the MusiCares Foundation, the GRAMMY Museum, the Latin Recording Academy, the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation, and GRAMMY Global Ventures.

 

This individual should be a positive and employee-focused HR practitioner who thrives in a collaborative environment with a minimum of five (5) years of experience. The Generalist will touch many aspects of People and Culture (recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and learning & development).

 

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

 

  • Talent Acquisition: Perform full-cycle recruitment, partnering with hiring managers to identify an effective recruiting strategy.
  • Create viable internal and external talent pools, development opportunities, and succession roadmaps.
  • On-boarding: Manage the logistics of on-boarding for new employees (to include regular, full-time employees, temporary and contract employees, interns, and GRAMMY U Representatives); oversee candidate background checks, new employee set-up, etc.
  • Off-boarding: Conduct exit interviews and analyze turnover data, partner with internal stakeholders to complete the off-boarding process (i.e. Information Technology, Payroll, Facilities, etc.).
  • Employee Relations: Manage employee relations issues/concerns within the company. Partner with the Chief People & Culture Officer, and others as needed, to resolve and manage risk.
  • Employee Engagement and Culture Building: work with the P&C team on planning and executing company staff events, measure employee engagement, and develop recommendations to enhance company culture.
  • Professional Development and Training: work with the P&C team to coordinate professional development training and/or workshops to build more effective teams and managers, while providing opportunities to learn new skills and share best practices.
  • Partner with key business leaders to plan and manage our Internship Program with a focus on building a learning experience while also creating a pipeline of future talent.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

 

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in progressive HR roles
  • Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field. HR Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws with the ability to provide information on laws and regulations that affect HR practices
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems, Paycom preferred
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to interface with staff at all levels
  • Must be fully bi-lingual in English and Spanish, including both written and verbal skills
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills to handle varied personalities and sensitive situations
  • Ability to manage deadlines and shifting priorities with a high attention to detail
  • Travel will be required, up to 15%
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and anticipate issues that may arise proactively and quickly determine the next steps
  • Ability and comfort in interacting with employees at all levels of the company
  • Exercises discretion and maintains a high level of confidentiality as required
  • Key success traits - Self-motivated, collaborative, proactive, and influential communicator

The Latin Recording Academy is an international, membership-based organization comprised of Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking recording artists, musicians, songwriters, producers, and other creative and technical recording professionals. The organization is dedicated to improving the quality of life and cultural condition for Latin music and its makers.
