What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Manager position at RECUR?

RECUR is a technology company that designs & develops dedicated branded experiences that allow fans to buy, collect, and re-sell digital products and collectibles. RECUR is the only blockchain-agnostic NFT platform ultimately giving its brand partners the widest range of distribution and their fan bases the widest range of utility. RECUR also co-authored the recurring royalty standard for NFTs, allowing for creators, artists, athletes, and brands to participate in the secondary sales of their assets in perpetuity.

RECUR needs a manager and technical leader to lead a team of engineers. At RECUR you will lead the engineering team focused on NFT utility, including building and managing a team of 4-7 engineers. This team is made up of front-end, back-end, and full stack engineers that are empowered and enabled to deliver product features end to end

What you will do at RECUR 

  • Build and lead a small agile team of 4-7 software engineers
  • Work closely with other engineering team leaders to align on dependencies and integrate deliverables
  • Ensure that your team is aligned with product management and overall product goals
  • Collaborate directly with our product design team to arrive at the best possible user experience
  • Continuously coach and mentor members of your team
  • Up our game, identify ways we can improve across the broader engineering and product teams, and make it happen
  • Institute RECUR ownership culture into your team by enabling them to execute and innovate
  • Become a subject matter expert in all of the ways we add utility to NFTs including our gamification and token-gated access offerings

What you bring to RECUR

  • You have 8 years developing software, preferably building sophisticated web user interfaces and highly scalable backends used by hundreds of thousands to millions of users
  • You have managed small software engineering teams within an agile development environment
  • You are an expert JavaScript/Typescript Developer
  • You are an expert at communicating technically complex concepts to a wide range of team members, regardless of their own technical background
  • You have significant experience with Node, React, relational databases, REST APIs, and Tailwind
  • You have experience building and deploying software and event-based architecture in the cloud, preferably AWS
  • You are a strong believer in test automation and software engineers “owning” all aspects of quality
  • You seek to make each developer as productive as possible using the right tools and the right amount of process
  • You have a passion for building great user experiences that impress and delight
  • You have an interest in blockchain, cryptocurrency, and NFTs
  • You are legally eligible to work in the USA or Canada
