Position: Bar Manager
Salary: $700 per week, payable on a bi-weekly basis
About Us: RED BAR LLP is a premier bar lounge located in the heart of Chinatown, Honolulu. We offer a unique experience with a designated cigar area in the lanai. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Bar Manager to join our team and help us continue to deliver exceptional service to our patrons.
Responsibilities:
Ordering and Inventory:
- Order liquor, beer, and other supplies.
- Manage inventory levels and conduct regular stock checks.
- Handle liquor and beer deliveries.
Staff Management:
- Schedule staff shifts and handle any staffing issues.
- Recruit, interview, and hire new staff.
- Train and develop staff, including conducting performance reviews.
- Manage bartenders efficiently to minimize payroll costs while ensuring quality service.
Customer Service:
- Handle customer complaints and feedback.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all regulations.
- Conduct safety and compliance training.
- Manage incident documentation.
- Be responsible for any issues or troubles arising with the Hawaii Liquor Commission.
Marketing and Promotions:
- Monitor and manage social media accounts.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies.
- Organize and promote events.
Operational Tasks:
- Oversee bar maintenance and upkeep.
- Open and close the bar as required.
- Reset cash drawers and ensure adequate change.
- Ensure cleanliness of the bar, including restrooms and tables.
- Manage trash removal and dishwashing.
Networking:
- Network with local businesses and support community events.
- Communicate with event planners and seek approval for proposals.
Supplies and Equipment:
- Ensure the bar is stocked with necessary items (ice, garnishes, napkins, etc.).
- Maintain and repair bar equipment.
Financial Management:
- Track daily sales and expenses.
- Prepare financial reports.
Vendor Relations:
- Negotiate and maintain relationships with suppliers.
Technology Management:
- Manage POS system and other technology.
Environmental Sustainability:
- Implement recycling and waste reduction programs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a managerial role in the bar or restaurant industry.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Strong understanding of bar operations and inventory management.
- Ability to handle customer complaints and provide high-quality service.
- Knowledge of compliance and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in social media and marketing strategies.
- Strong networking and community engagement skills.
- Financial acumen and ability to manage expenses and budgets.
- Familiarity with POS systems and other relevant technology.
- Commitment to environmental sustainability practices.
Working Hours:
- Flexible working hours with the expectation to meet all responsibilities and tasks.
- Presence required during all operating hours of the bar as mandated by the Hawaii Liquor Commission.
