Position Title: Floral Manager

Location: Sparks, NV

Classification: Full-Time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Owner, Operations Manager

Supervises: Floral Logistics Assistant


Position Summary:

The Floral Manager is responsible for producing high-end floral designs for special events. The ideal candidate will be motivated, flexible and creative. They will thrive in a fast-paced environment with exceptional attention to detail. Most of all, the ideal candidate will have a passion for helping people connect through the art of floral design. This is a full-time position with the opportunity to learn other aspects of event design.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties:

  • Floral ordering and procurement to ensure profitability benchmarks are met for each event.
  • Floral preparation and execution for events including weddings, social, and corporate.
  • Manage event timelines and deadlines utilizing Basecamp project management software.
  • Fulfill work orders to an agreed quality standard and timeline.
  • Provide professional floral consultation and guidance to team and clients during the sales and planning process to ensure the best solution is provided for each event.
  • Responsible for accurate packing, safe delivery and artistically setting arrangements at events.
  • Ensure safe return of inventory back to the warehouse after events and store it in an orderly fashion to be used for future events.
  • Ensure that all floral design warehouse is organized and clean to create a safe and comfortable work environment.
  • Research and upkeep of current and new floral trends.
  • Manage and mentor a team of floral assistants.
  • Handle day-to-day administration of events with clients, vendors, venues and the Red Carpet Team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

  • Ability to show initiative and actively predict helpful task assignments.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment while maintaining a calm demeanor.
  • Ability to work alone and/or with a team in different work conditions such as on-site and off-site.
  • Ability to have excellent customer service skills and an ability to maintain positive working relationships with vendors, clients, and fellow employees.
  • Ability to fullfill work orders to an agreed quality standard.
  • Ability to find creative solutions to challenges on a regular basis.
  • Ability to drive to/from events with a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to stand on ladders and/or scissor lifts to assist in creating floral design installations.
  • Ability to work on feet for at least 8 hours.
  • Ability to work flexible hours - day, nights and weekends.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite preferred.


Education and Work Experience:

  • Relevant experience in floral production and/or special events.


Certificates and Licenses:

▪ A valid Nevada driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is required.


Physical /Mental Demands:

Physical: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, bend, and kneel for an extended amount of time as this is a highly hands-on position. The employee will use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects or tools.

Mental: Regular and on-time attendance. Ability to see details of objects that are less than a few feet away. Ability to see differences between colors, shades, and brightness. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in a professional manner.


Working Conditions:

The employee will primarily work in the floral design warehouse which may or may not be climate controlled depending on the load in/out for an event. When not in the floral design warehouse, the employee will often work on-site with others and around others, with verbal and face-to-face contact. A flexible approach to working hours must be maintained to ensure maximum service to clientele, including overtime, weekends, early morning, and late evenings.


Compensation and Benefits:

  • The compensation range is $25 - $28 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
