About the job
The Red Hat Market Development team in the North America (NA) region is looking for a Market Development Manager to join us in either Tysons Corner, VA, or Raleigh, NC to lead a team of public sector market development representatives. In this role, you will work as part of the NA Market Development leadership team, managing a team of market development representatives whose primary responsibilities will be prospecting and nurturing leads to uncover new business opportunities within public sector accounts. You’ll provide guidance to your team while they carry out follow-up activities for inbound leads and conduct strategic outbound prospecting. As a Market Development Manager, you will collaborate with the regional Sales Management team, the regional Marketing teams, and peer managers within the Market Development team. You should be passionate about building relationships, recruiting, and mentoring people, as a big part of your job will be hiring and developing people.
What you will do
- Recruit, hire, and train new associates who join the team; provide regular mentoring and coaching to grow and develop your team
- Work in collaboration with the Marketing and Sales teams to deliver strategic outbound prospecting sales campaigns
- Oversee the operational excellence of a team of market development representatives, ensuring that inbound marketing-generated leads are followed up on in a consistent, timely manner and using proper tools and sequences and that activities meet weekly expectations
- Monitor the team’s lead performance metrics and regularly provide ideas and solutions to assist associates close the gap
- Foster a collaborative and encouraging team environment through regular team building and team bonding activities
- Ensure that the team is continually trained on and aware of new releases and updates of our offerings
- Ensure constant and transparent communication with the team on relevant information
- Provide weekly and quarterly metrics to the manager on opportunities uncovered, pipeline, etc.
- Provide expertise and vision and mentorship within the Market Development team
- Maintain industry knowledge of best practices and available tools to improve efficiency
What you will bring
- 5 years of experience with sales or lead generation with 2 years of experience serving in a management role
- Proven record of success in a fast-moving technical and cross-functional environment
- Excellent organizational, writing, and presentation skills
- Proficiency with Outreach or similar tools like Salesforce.com (SFDC), LinkedIn Navigator, or Discover.org
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Great interpersonal and leadership skills; deep understanding of business drivers and key results
- Ability to interact with all levels of the organization with diplomacy and tact
- Proven ability to work as part of a team with a high level of initiative and collaboration
- Knowledge of Red Hat’s business model, offerings, and services
