The Credit Analyst supports the Credit Director in the evaluation of financial information to determine the level of risk for upcoming customers.
Essential Functions
Ensures adherence to internal credit management policies and procedures
Minimizes turnaround time for review of new Credit Applications
Administrates new customer accounts into Varnet /CSI system
Communicates directly with branch and sales team to provide status of credit applications
Uploads invoices into Customer invoice “Portals”
Other duties as assigned by the Credit Director
Important Goals and Deadlines
Credit Applications are to be processed within 24 hours of receipt
Branches utilizing CSI for COD accounts are to be processed on the same day following a communication to the branch and sales team before 5 PM
If application is noted as “same day” Credit Analyst is to determine if “courtesy order” can be granted if sufficient time not available to conduct credit review
Organizes processed credit applications and related documents on a weekly basis
Uploads invoices to “Portal” accounts within 24 hours of receipt
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to utilize D&B reports, financial statements, and trade references to assess level of risk
Knowledge of lien laws in various states
Ability to work within tight deadlines
Sense of discretion & willingness to maintain strict confidentiality of pertinent and sensitive information
Strong oral and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications to include Excel & Word
Working knowledge of customer invoice “Portals” such as Ops, Yardi, Nexus
Education and Experience
2-4 plus years of experience in credit or relevant experience
High School Diploma or GED
Working Conditions
Office environment: Monday- Friday with ability to work overtime
Ability to sit for extended periods of time
