JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Delivery Driver 1
Reports to: General Manager
Payroll Status: Non-exempt

Position Summary:

The Delivery Driver 1 is responsible for operating a company delivery vehicle, where he/she will use the vehicle to deliver a wide range of equipment and supplies on the assigned route. Once arrived at the customer’s location, the Delivery Driver 1 will unload the products, set in place as needed, and will (haul away any trash or packing material). All employees will adhere to company policies and procedures in accordance to the Mission Statement and Employee Handbook

Essential Responsibilities:

• Perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is ready for the road.

• Deliver and set in place restaurant equipment to local establishments

• Assemble Furniture

• Load the truck in an efficient manner for unloading and confirming customer orders

• Load and unload pallets with merchandise from box truck with use of a manual pallet jack

• Ensure truck stock matches delivery requirements

• Read and interpret maps and GPS directions

• Maintain and organize all delivery paperwork and deliver it to the proper personnel at the end of each shift

• Collect signature and/or payments at delivery locales

• Complete logs and reports

• Operate a commercial vehicle in compliance with local, state and federal laws

• Keep vehicle organized, clean and tidy

• Ask for feedback on provided services and resolve clients’ complaints

• Other job related duties as assigned by a supervisor

Primary Qualifications:

• Knowledge of: o Read and interpret bill of ladings, invoices, insurance certificates, and shipping manifests. o Navigate using GPS instruments and maps o Basic warehousing documents such as packing lists, purchase orders, and delivery slips

• Abilities and Skills o Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers, fractions and decimals. o Ability to read, write and speak effectively in English. Spanish speaking is a plus o Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. o Must have excellent customer service and follow-up skills o Must be comfortable working in a warehouse type environment and outdoors

o Valid driver’s license o Good driving record o Ability to operate forklifts variety of weather and traffic conditions o Excellent organizational and time management skills

• Education and Experience o At lease 1-3 years of warehouse/delivery experience o High School diploma or equivalency

• Pass a pre-employment physical exam and drug screening. o Must be able to climb stairs o Must be able to operate basic warehouse material handling equipment such as:

• Four wheel carts
• Two wheel dollies
• Manual pallet jacks o Daily activities will include:
• Standing
• Walking
• Bending
• Stooping on concrete floors and office tile floors
• Stand and walk up to eight (8) hours daily.

• Lift and lower boxes and objects 35” from the floor, 1-25 pounds 25 times daily; 26-50 pounds 10 times daily

• Operate a computer or handheld electronic devices.

• Working Conditions: o Delivery in outdoors conditions, but will also work in the warehouse which is a non- climate controlled environment
• Temperatures in the warehouse range from 45 to 95 degrees o Noisy atmosphere

Work Schedule:

Scheduled 8 hour shift, five days weekly (Mon.-Fri.) with limited opportunities for overtime work
