Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement strategic plans for property operations and asset management.
- Provide leadership and direction to the property management team to achieve performance goals.
- Collaborate with senior executives to align property operations with overall company objectives.
- Oversee day-to-day property management activities, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
- Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to maximize property performance.
- Ensure properties are maintained to the highest standards, addressing maintenance and repair issues promptly.
- Develop and manage operating budgets, capital expenditure plans, and financial forecasts.
- Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Maximize revenue through effective lease management, tenant retention, and rent optimization.
- Conduct regular portfolio reviews to assess property performance and identify opportunities for value enhancement.
- Develop and execute asset management strategies to optimize the value and return on investment of the portfolio.
- Oversee capital improvement projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with tenants, investors, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Represent the company in negotiations with tenants, vendors, and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Stay informed about evolving local, state, and federal regulations and industry best practices.
- Implement compliance strategies and advocate for regulatory changes when necessary.
- Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing property management team.
- Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and development opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree in real estate, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in property operations and asset management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge of the New York City real commercial and multifamily estate market, exposure to large-scale development projects would be ideal.
- Proven track record of successfully managing a diverse portfolio of properties.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in property management software and other relevant technologies.
- Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
