Position Description
The Materials Supervisor is the central liaison between Refresco and its suppliers and is responsible for managing the flow of materials to the Joplin facilities in such a manner that contributes to the continuing profitability of the organization.
Essential Functions:
- Utilize the ERP and MRP systems to effectively and cost-efficiently manage material orders to satisfy spare parts demands.
- Participate in multi-functional groups to include manufacturing, procurement, marketing and others to accomplish Refresco goals and communicate/educate others on material issues and constraints.
- Work to improve and develop processes and procedures to maximize materials PPV and reduce supplier lead times. Capitalize on internal improvements while continuing to look for external improvements.
- Maintains the MPO and release system with effective procedures for the uninterrupted supply of maintenance spare parts and consumables to the Joplin manufacturing locations. Proactively minimize stock-outs, slow-moving/obsolete parts and eliminate unnecessary transportation costs.
- Coordinates the flow of information relative to vendor inventory and capacity planning in relation to Refresco’s forecasted maintenance events.
- Keeps current of Global Sourcing supply strategies and commercial relations with vendors.
- Accomplishes all duties, functional responsibilities and objectives at the lowest possible level of administrative cost and with maximum efficiency by:
- Working with the most efficient and economic procedures possible.
- Continually reviewing operations to ensure ongoing cost-effectiveness
- Creative analysis and planning.
- Maintaining harmonious, productive, working relationships with suppliers & other departments internally and externally.
Education & Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in related field (or equivalent experience) plus three (3) years of materials/inventory management experience preferably in the manufacturing maintenance industry.
- Experience in building effective collaborative relationships with both internal and external customers/suppliers.
- SAP knowledge and experience strongly preferred.
Work Environment Demands
- Physical - Continuously standing or walking. Regular requirements to lift/handle/carry material or equipment of moderate weight.
- Visual/Sensory - This position requires the regular need to give moderate attention with one or two senses at a time.
- Work environment - Work and environment are very repetitive.
