R19350 R&D Associate (TEMP)
Pay Range: Min $31.98 - Max $51.55
We are seeking an independent, motivated, and creative Research Associate to join our dynamic and collaborative neuroscience team. The successful candidate will have in vivo and in vitro expertise to support investigation of neuro-immune targets and mechanisms implicated in microglia/macrophage function in the setting and maintenance of chronic, pain and itch.
As a temporary Research Associate on the Neuroscience team, a typical day might include:
Designing and conducting experiments in mice to understand neuro-immune mechanisms involved in pain and itch, including injection of target modifying agents.
Performing and analyzing behavioral assays to assess efficacy of therapeutic interventions.
Tissue dissection from mice followed by immunohistochemical and biochemical analyses by microscopy, ELISA, Western blotting, qPCR, and other related techniques.
Designing and conducting cell-culture based experiments to support the development of new therapeutic modalities.
Surveying current and relevant literature to expand scientific and technical knowledge, optimizing and developing new assays, and bringing innovative ideas
Performing data analysis and troubleshooting under minimal direction.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a bachelor’s degree in a field related to biomedicine, with at least 2 years of lab experience. Applicants should be proficient in working with mice, including injections (intraperitoneal, subcutaneous, intrathecal, ICV, hippocampal), perfusion, tissue collection and dissections. Experience with behavioral studies is required. Experience in a range of molecular and cellular biology techniques including mammalian cell culturing, immunohistochemistry, ELISA, and Western blot is preferred
