JOB SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Performs a variety of routine duties in all areas of Food and Nutrition Services which involve the use of various equipment, the preparation of foods for cafeteria and patient services, the serving of food on the serving line in the cafeteria, catering for special events, the delivery of food and clean-up operations.  Follows established policies and procedures.

MACHINES OR EQUIPMENT OPERATED:  Serving utensils and dishes, cleaning materials, tray carts, kitchen equipment and floor cleaning equipment.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

EDUCATION:  Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.  High school graduate or equivalent work experience.

 

EXPERIENCE:  Six (6) months experience in institutional food service setting preferred.  Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.  Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a team environment and exhibit customer service skills.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Prolonged , walking, stooping, lifting and pushing.  Manual dexterity to perform job requirements; frequent exposure to heat and humidity.  Medium Work - Exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.  (May be further defined as "with or without assistance.")
