Summary:
Responsible for planning, designing, developing, and executing projects and systems related to business, financial, and operations in support of core organizational functions and business processes. This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and resource requirements. The Business Operations Manager is also responsible for acquiring resources and coordinating various efforts to compile, distribute and present complex reports and business cases. This individual will apply successful communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the successful achievement of project goals and objectives. Plans, executes and finalizes projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.
Education Requirement:
Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration/Management or any directly related area required.
Experience Requirement:
Two (2) years of direct work experience in a business analyst or project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution preferred. Experience in the healthcare industry and Lean Six Sigma preferred.
Licensure/Certification Requirement:
PMP or Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred
1. Directs and/or develops business projects/processes/systems development from implementation to end of life cycle.
- Defines scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with decision makers, senior management and stakeholders
- Utilizes Lean Six Sigma and best practices and tools for successful execution and management of projects
- Develops full-scale plans and all associated communications documents and effectively communicates goal expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear manner
- Collects and analyzes data to estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve stated goals
- Drafts and submits budget proposals, and recommends subsequent budget changes when necessary
- Determines and assesses need for additional staff and/or consultants and assists in making the required procurements if necessary.
- Sets and continually manages project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
- Conducts data analysis and reports recommendations in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project/process elements
- Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical path.
- Plans and schedules project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
- Tracks project milestones and deliverable
- Develops and presents progress reports, proposals, requirements and recommendations
- Determines the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem area
- Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifies potential crises and devises contingency plans
- May be assigned to coach and/or mentor project team members to help positively influence them
- Builds, develops and grows any business relationships vital to the success of the Regional One Health
- Recommends and assists senior management in negotiation with other department managers for the acquisition of additional resources
- Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts within the business unit
5. Completes required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements. Responds to problems/opportunities to improve work environment and participates in unit based performance improvement activities which includes committees, monitoring and follow-up.
6. Performs cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed processes to aid senior management in decision making process.
7. Performs special projects and other duties and responsibilities as required.
8. Manage department staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of project management software such as Microsoft Project Manager and Microsoft Office Suite
Demonstrated project management skills and experience organizing and coordinating multiple projects
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize high priority projects simultaneously
Demonstrated ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
Demonstrated effective communication skills (verbal and written)
Demonstrated effective customer service and organizational skills required to complete assignments and meet job demands
Demonstrated ability to provide guidance and instruction to customers, and to interact effectively with customers of varying levels of expertise.
- Provides direction and management to assigned staff
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
- The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
