What are the responsibilities and job description for the HIM Coding Analyst II position at Regions Hospital?
Regions Hospital is hiring for a HIM Coding Analyst to join their team! To complete analysis of each individual patient stay to provide accurate diagnoses, procedures and other relevant data base information for optimal financial reimbursement, collection of unique and pertinent information and accumulation of statistical data; to provide an information base for the hospital financial, utilization and quality activities, research and statistics; to assign ICD-10-CM and the optimal Diagnostic Related Group (DRG) for reimbursement from Third Party Payers; and perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate from an associate or bachelor degree program in health information, completion of a coding specialist program or successful completion of AHIMA or AAPC coding credential exam.
Experience: 3-5 years' experience in facility coding.
Licensure/Registration/ Certification: CCA, CCS, CIC, COC, CPC, HCS, RHIT, or RHIA
