Pullet Support

Job Summary:

Responsible for overall care of pullets including but not limited to: clean up, operate manure belts, assist in vaccination, record data, pick up and record daily mortality, and run feed systems.  Record daily temperatures, feed and water usage.  Maintain Bio-buildings.  Clean and perform other housekeeping duties.  Every other weekend rotation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for overall care of birds
• Run feed systems
• Adjust water lines and feed guards
• Record daily temperatures, feed usage, water usage
• Operate and clean manure belts/scrapers
• Pick up and record daily mortality
• Flush water lines routinely
• Assist in vaccination of pullets-water/spray and bleeding birds
• Maintain cleanliness of Bio-buildings: clean, sweep, use air hoses, perform other housekeeping requirements
• Follow all OSHA safety regulations and procedures
• Perform other tasks as assigned

Backup:

• A trained designee will be appointed by management to cover for absences or vacancies; refer to Rembrandt Foods site-specific facility back-up matrix on file.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

   Required:

• Husbandry Skills-Maintaining proper feed, water, climate and living conditions in buildings
• Awareness and knowledge of surroundings in relation to climate, atmosphere and equipment
• Hand/Eye/Foot Coordination
• Shower In (REI provides clothing and footwear)
• Ability to ride custom pedal Tri-cycle
• Power-washing buildings and equipment
• Independent  Self Starter/Team Player
• Attention to detail
• Ability to communicate verbally with managers
• Basic English: communicate for job and safety issues
• Mathematical Skills:  Basic Arithmetic, count, add and subtract
• Computer Skills:  PC, Touch screens

   Preferred:

• Fine Motor Skills

Equipment:

• Hand held radios/ Helmets/Hearing protection/ Safety glasses/Respirator mask
• Custom pedal tri-cycle
• Hand tools/ Power tools/Utility cart/ Vaccination carts/ Bird racks
• Large push broom, kitchen pull broom/Squeegee, floor mop/ High pressure wand
