This job contributes to REI’s success by accelerating the rate of scale for new Experiences growth formats at a national level. This role leads work with team members to build and manage processes, resources, plans, and capabilities to accelerate new Experiences formats.
This role will have focused leadership in one or more new formats and work to develop the divisional, cross functional, and external capabilities that support speed to market for priority growth initiatives within Experiences. Working with cross-functional partners and other Experiences team members, this role works to support format growth, sustainability, and optimize business economics.
Plans, prioritizes, and leads bodies of work in alignment with Experiences strategic growth goals and objectives.- Manages relationships with internal and external partners to transition new revenue streams and business formats from innovation to scalable capabilities.
- Adapts communication styles to work effectively with all levels, both in-person and in remote working environments.
- Establishes the measurement of strategic objectives for growth formats and evaluates the success of the program on a routine basis.
- Provides on-going feedback and communication to internal and external partners.
- Collaborates across innovation and project management functions divisionally and cross functionally.
- Ensures growth formats meet quality expectations and deliver on strategic goals at scale.
- Travels to REI Experiences locations to observe, evaluate and ensure quality of formats meets expectations.
- Models and acts in accordance with REI’s guiding values and mission.
Bring your passion and expertise
- 2 years’ experience developing, and executing business growth initiatives
- 2 years’ experience scaling new or innovative programs to drive additional revenue streams
- 2 years of overseeing revenue and expense budgets of $500K or larger
- 2 years working with external partners/vendors in support of business objectives
- Preferred experience in Project Management
- Ability to work independently with in-person as well as remote managers and peers
- Ability to travel with extended stays and/or traveling to multiple locations
- Preferred 2 yrs experience in outdoor education and/or adventure travel program operations
- Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Leisure and Recreation Management, or equivalent experience
