What are the responsibilities and job description for the UX Director position at Reingold Inc?
“Mind reader” was the original title for this job, but our SEO team advised against it. That’s because they — just like our ideal candidate for this senior user experience (UX) designer role — have a psychic-like understanding of what people want online and how they go about finding it. Their secret? Data, lots of data.
You love data, but more important, you also know how to transform data into meaningful insights that lead to seamless (dare we say: inspiring?) digital experiences for end users.
Other things we know about you: You want to make a difference. You enjoy a fast pace. You like working hard while having fun. You make excellent spicy guacamole dip to share with your co-workers at staff parties. (OK, the last one is optional.)
But Seriously:
Reingold is hiring a director-level professional (8 years) with serious chops in UX design and information architecture (IA) to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina. You’ll be part of a whip-smart group of digital marketers and creative experts who are committed to advancing client causes in health care, education, the veteran community, and more.
Here’s what you would do on a day-to-day basis:
- Lead the UX workstream of a project, interpreting requirements and directing others in developing design solutions.
- Demonstrate mastery of user-centered design practices and industry tools.
- Lead workshops with project teams and clients.
- Demonstrate fluency in responsive and mobile design principles.
- Mentor others on agile and UX best practices.
- Anticipate and resolve complex project issues.
- Collaborate with other teams, including digital marketing and analytics, on strategies and deliverables.
- Cultivate strong relationships with the firm's senior leaders.
- Support hiring initiatives.
- Consult on business development solutions and help create budget estimates.
- Directly supervise one or more UX designers, including duties such as reviewing time sheets, providing feedback, and setting goals.
This role is a good fit for someone with the following qualifications and skills:
- 8 years of experience in UX design, IA, interaction design, or similar roles.
- Proven success with designing and executing user research and content strategies.
- Portfolio of knock-our-socks-off UX and IA deliverables.
- Excellence in communicating technical information to clients and others.
- Demonstrated creativity and resourcefulness.
- Initiative, intellect, versatility, and tact.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in a relevant field.
- Ability to switch gears and know when to innovate and when not to reinvent the wheel.
Note: Please add a link or attach work samples or collections from your portfolio.
Reingold offers competitive salaries, a comprehensive benefits package, a fun (and sometimes zany) workplace culture, and growth opportunities in a variety of specialty areas. That means when we find good people (and they find us), they stay around for the long term.
Workspace flexibility, too! Reingold employees are working remotely until we can safely return to the offices. We know that creativity happens in different ways for different people, so when our offices open, we’re going hybrid: Staff members will be allowed to choose how many days they want to work in the office. We’d just like to have you close enough to be able to come in when needed to support the work.
