Position Summary
A Field Service Technician is a key member of our Automated Traffic Safety Enforcement division, ensuring the successful deployment, operation and performance of remote systems across the local area. The focus is to maintain all systems to achieve maximum results, up-time and physical condition. This will require managing and moving stocks of re-chargeable batteries and spare parts, driving to and safely parking at road-way sites across the state, installing and testing traffic systems, maintaining and cleaning equipment, making general repairs and replacing hardware. Good time management, problem solving abilities and attention to detail are essential.
The Contribution:
- Installs and relocates traffic systems in the field according to approved plans
- Ensure that system configurations and outputs meet the highest standards
- Make certain that systems have sufficient power supplies for operating hours
- Perform scheduled and ad hoc maintenance and cleaning
- Repair and/or replace system hardware and wiring
- Operate and park service trucks and vans safely and legally at all times
- Maintain service vehicles in excellent working condition and physical appearance
- Keep accurate records and reports
- Other duties as needed or required

- High school diploma or GED required
- Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
- 2 years of experience with computer systems and electronics repair
- Must be proficient with small tools
- Solid understanding of the fundamentals of electricity
- Located in the Baltimore metro area

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 35 pounds. The employee must be comfortable working at heights up to 40 feet in a bucket truck or on a ladder, near and around power lines. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
