We are looking for a diligent vendor manager to assist our company in building sound contracted vendor relationships. Responsibilities include daily ongoing monitoring of contracted vendors to ensure compliance with contracts, policies, and conduct. Attending company meetings and informing new vendors of their responsibilities. You should also be able to cancel vendor contracts should contracted vendors fail to perform adequately.
To be successful as a vendor manager, you should be detail-oriented, demonstrate strong negotiation skills and command respect. Ultimately, an outstanding vendor manager should be able to multitask effectively, demonstrate exceptional analytical, problem-solving, decision-making skills, as well as assure the highest level of contracted vendor performance and customer satisfaction.
Vendor Manager Responsibilities:
- Developing and sustaining long-standing relationships with company-approved vendors.
- Ongoing contacting of vendors to verify status and correct standard operating procedures/actions per contract.
- Meeting with suitable vendors to assess their equipment, inquire about their services, negotiate pricing, and communicate any service-related concerns.
- Terminating the contracts of poor performing vendors.
- Conducting research on available vendors to determine which vendors offer the best service, professionalism, and pricing.
- Continually monitoring, and documenting vendor performance and commitments.
- Implementing vendor selection programs to ensure that the best vendors are secured.
- Conducting interviews with new vendors and informing approved vendors of their responsibilities and obligations.
- Establishing standards by which to assess the performance of approved vendors.
- Establishing and implementing vendor rating system
- Evaluating current vendor management programs and identifying ways to improve them.
Vendor Manager Requirements:
- Authoritative demeanor
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience working as a vendor manager.
- Strong Software and Web App Skills
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
- The ability to multitask effectively.
- Strong negotiation, management, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer service skills.
- Fully Covid vaccinated
