What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Director/ Director, Translational Computational Biology position at Remix Therapeutics?
Remix Therapeutics is a biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering modulators of RNA processing for undruggable disease drivers. We seek a creative and motivated bioinformatics science leader to manage and build a collaborative team aimed at the discovery and development of RNA-processing modulators to bring meaningful new benefits to patients.

Principle duties and responsibilities:
- Manage and continue to build a large translational computational biology team, with additional headcount budgeted and approved
- Oversee the in silico translational and clinical patient stratification efforts of Remix lead programs in neurobiology and oncology
- Lead the translational computational strategy for a number of exciting early-stage targets in the Remix portfolio as well as partnered targets across diverse target disease areas
Qualification
- PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or Computer Science
- Experience building and managing computational teams, particularly in the context of translational discovery
- In depth experience with publicly available datasets relevant to drug discovery (eg TCGA, cbioportal, GTEx) and data analysis methods for target identification, patient stratification, and biomarker development
- Outstanding bioinformatics programming skills in at least one language relevant to data analysis such as Python or R
- Strong data visualization and communication skills to convey methodologies and results with colleagues, including bench scientists, research management, and project team leaders
- Understanding of ML/AI tools/frameworks and the application of these methods to biological problem solving and drug discovery a plus
- Background in cancer biology, neurology, and/or immunology preferred
- Authorized to legally work in the United States
