Job Overview:
The Office Assistant will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our medical office. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around providing administrative support to our healthcare team, maintaining accurate records, scheduling appointments, and assisting with various office tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Greeting and check-in patients, ensuring a friendly and welcoming environment.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the office calendar effectively.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide general information to patients.
- Maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist with billing and insurance-related tasks, including verifying insurance coverage and processing claims.
- Prepare and maintain medical charts, ensuring that all necessary information is documented.
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers or specialists as needed.
- Manage office supplies and ensure that inventory is well-stocked.
- Organize and maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the reception area and office spaces.
- Collaborate with other administrative staff and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless operations.
- Provide support to providers and the office manager for daily operations.
- Other related tasks as assigned by the office manager.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent highly preferred.
- Bi-lingual in English and Chinese required.
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is required.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients and team members.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Strong multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures is beneficial.
