This EPIC Support Coordinator will coordinate and communicate with other resources who are assigned to support application issues/project tasks and act as a liaison between users, analysts, and vendors. Evaluate reported issues thoroughly and efficiently. Coordinate small projects and occasionally larger and more complex projects. What would you do as a EPIC User Support Specialist?

This position focuses its time and effort on the following duties, though others may be required:

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of EPIC EHR workflows, related applications/systems;
  • Responding timely to all issues reported. (Issues includes, but are not limited to EPIC EHR application, phone apps, other EHR connected applications, EHR systems connectivity issues, as well as some general technical support issues);
  • Log issues promptly and accurately with detailed up-to-date information and ensure resolve in a timely and efficient manner escalating when appropriate;
  • Review outstanding issues daily;
  • Recognize potential gaps in workflows that may require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding recurring reported issues. Submit recommendations for approval;
  • Participate in relevant information-sharing activities, including but not limited to EPIC EHR quarterly updates and newly implemented EHR workflows;
  • Process onboarding/offboarding of EPIC EHR users;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Assist with other projects or programs as needed.


Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment. The noise level is usually moderate. The ability to use and view computer applications for extended periods of time.

Schedule: Typical shifts are 8 hours; office hours are Monday – Friday. Schedule up to manager discretion.

Travel: May require up to 10% travel to and from other ROC locations (limited Reno, Sparks, Carson City) to train employees as needed.

What do you need to have to be considered?

To be successful in this role, you must have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Certifications/Education
    • High School Diploma/GED;
  • Knowledge of:
    • Principles of excellent customer service, including remaining calm when helping resolve issues and educating users.
  • Experience:
    • Use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Teams, OneNote, etc.)
    • Leading educational or project/task-based meetings
    • Minimum 1 (one) year experience using EPIC
    • Minimum 1 (one) year supporting/training users to use an EHR system


How can you set yourself apart from other applicants?

If you have these preferred qualifications, you would be an ideal candidate:

  • Providing technical user support on-site or over the phone in an IT department or within a healthcare setting.
  • EPIC Certification (Fundamentals or CT Training)
