Shop Manager

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Shop Manager to oversee our fleet maintenance operations. This role requires a combination of hands-on mechanic work, team management, and administrative duties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vehicle maintenance, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency with fleet management software.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mechanic Work & Diagnosis:
• Perform and supervise routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of vehicles.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently.
• Fleet Maintenance Program:
• Run and operate the Fleet Maintenance Program (Fleetio) to track and manage all maintenance activities.
• Ensure all vehicles are maintained according to safety and operational standards.
• Team Management:
• Lead, manage, and maintain a competent shop crew.
• Provide training, support, and performance evaluations for shop staff.
• Parts and Inventory Management:
• Oversee the procurement and inventory of parts and supplies.
• Maintain accurate records of all parts and inventory.
• Budget Management:
• Develop and manage the shop budget to ensure cost-effective operations.
• Monitor expenditures and identify areas for cost savings.
• Computer Skills:
• Utilize computer systems effectively for diagnostics, record-keeping, and fleet management.
• Proficient in using Fleetio and other relevant software.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a mechanic with strong diagnostic skills.
• Previous experience in managing a maintenance shop and team.
• Proficiency in Fleetio or similar fleet management software.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage budgets and inventory efficiently.
• Strong computer skills.
• ASE certification or equivalent is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
