What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager in Training (MIT) position at Rent-a-Center?
The Store Manager in Training (MIT) position has been created to give an individual an accelerated training opportunity in preparation to become a Store Manager. The MIT is accountable for superior customer service, as well as profitability through effective management of the store, while working closely with the Store Manager to achieve store goals.
The MIT will perform assigned duties under direction of experienced personnel and receive training while performing duties in all aspects of store operations such as: credit, customer service, managing profit/loss statements, increasing revenue and customer base, becoming familiar with store and Home Office staff functions, store operations, management viewpoints, and company policies and practices that affect each phase of business. Observes experienced workers to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures, and standards required for performance of duties; successful completion of required training modules. Travel may be required as a part of the training program.
This position requires a high level of initiative and frequently exercises discretion and independent judgment. The ultimate goal of the program is to develop a MIT who is ready to become a Store Manager and will eventually take the responsibility of a store location. The MIT must be willing to relocate to another store after completion of MIT program if necessary.
