Responsibilities

What do our Insurance Claims Generalist do?

This role support the business and claims team related to the claims management process including but not limited to Auto, General liability and Workers Compensation.

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Assists with claims management to ensure cost mitigation methods are utilized
• Provide support to manage claims such as claim intake, accident investigations, non complex claims , vacation support for worker compensation manager
• Ensure claim data is maintained in reporting systems, such as Origami, Cority and Risk management systems, OSHA record keeping software
• Prepare various correspondence, forms, reports and other materials, as needed for all claims
• Assist in managing experience modification rates including applying accurate coding and external audits
• Manage North America’s hierarchy in different management systems to ensure proper financial reporting
• Assist in collecting discovery on cases in conjunction with operations, legal, and other departments
• Ensure certificates of insurance and auto ID cards are issued timely at renewal
• Participate in claim reviews for tracking of reserves, closures and action plans
• Respond and provide direction to third parties and colleagues in locating claims
• Support Senior Manager Claims in analyzing data of workers compensation claims reported timely, assessing penalties
• Provide statistical claim information to the field, and SHE team that will be used to identify high areas of risk, changes to accident profiles and trends. Reporting will be used to support continued reduction in claim costs
• Assist with special projects, as requested

What do you need? 

• Associate’s Degree or Associates in Claims
• Two years of claims management experience with WC, General Liability and Auto. Multi-line an advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills dealing with all levels of employees, customers,
  and management
• Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office,Google Suite is a plus
• Ability to prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information
• Ability to prioritize and manage several projects concurrently
• Willingness to work in a high-paced, often changing environment
• Willing to pursue additional certifications to increase knowledge of claims
• Successfully meet pre-employment background screen
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass motor vehicle record search
