System Administrator is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and security of RDG’s internal network and computer systems. Duties include installing antivirus or malware protection software, responding to employee concerns, or drafting documents to help employees use computer systems and coordinating with company leadership to determine new technologies that could enhance their company’s computer systems.
System Administrator will ensure that employees have secure and efficient computer systems to fulfill their daily job responsibilities. They work closely with IT personnel and company employees to update systems, address security breaches, and help troubleshoot issues. Plan problematic situations and create procedures to restore computer systems and their functionality.
Our Software Developers at RDG Filings develop a mixture of cloud-based software, APIs, web services and plugins to meet our client’s and internal user’s needs. We work in an agile team environment. We work toward the common goal of implementing customer and RDG user feature requests as well as resolve bug reports on a variety of platforms, technologies, and programming languages.
Position Responsibilities:
- Configures, installs, upgrades, and administers various components of the company’s information system network; analyzes, monitors, troubleshoots and resolves routine system performance, security, availability, and other issues/problems.
- Installs, test and configures hardware and software; researches, recommends, and implements upgrades as appropriate.
- Responds to requests for assistance with hardware, software, and peripheral equipment; troubleshoots, investigates, and resolves issues.
- Deploys computers, phones and other related software for new user set up.
- Installs upgrades, patches, and configuration changes to operating systems and other applications.
- Administers the company’s email system, along with security awareness campaigns and training.
- Ensuring all server systems are available and meet with company requirements.
- Day to day support of Microsoft Server Platforms and MS products (Windows 2008/2012/2016/2019, Active Directory, IIS, Windows Clustering, Windows Storage, and VMWare).
- System design, automation, deployments and testing of infrastructure and middleware.
- Monitors and manages the company backup and recovery operations.
- Monitors and manages the company’s cloud platforms in Azure and GCP.
- Work towards automation and review manual tasks that can be automated.
- Coordinate downtime with management.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining a secure LAN/WAN configuration.
- Endpoint management utilizing Intune.
- Work with vendors as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must possess an Associate or bachelor’s degree in a computer or technology related field OR minimum three years’ experience.
- Knowledge of methods and techniques of providing information technology support, maintenance and administration including areas such as software/hardware installation, troubleshooting and testing.
- Knowledge of basic computer infrastructure elements including network, desktop, virtual server and server operating systems and their applications.
- Understanding of basic networking concepts around LAN/WAN and related protocols, telecommunications, and wireless.
- Scripting languages such as perl, python, etc preferred
- Experience with general SQL server database troubleshooting
- Familiarity with network system hardware and data communications equipment including switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Thorough knowledge of windows operating systems.
- Ability to train end-users on technology systems.
- Must have a strong attention to detail.
- Linux experience is a plus
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work on a team.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain vendor relations.
