Position Summary:
The ResR Account Coordinator will act on behalf of our medical clients in a customer service capacity including assisting their patients with questions on owed balances and negotiating payment in full or payment arrangements to get owed balances paid in full within federal, state, and our client’s policy guidelines and laws.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to overcome stalls and objections in a friendly yet firm manner to assist individuals in resolving any owed balances.
- Ability to negotiate with individuals who want to pay their balance but may not be able to in full at the time. This may include asking uncomfortable financial questions of the individual to better understand and assist them in their ability to resolve the owed balance.
- Reviewing account notes quickly as to be able to assist in promptly and properly answering any questions or resolving concerns the individual may have regarding their owed balance.
- Taking inbound calls from individuals who may have questions on their account or would like to resolve an outstanding balance.
- Making outbound calls to individuals who may have questions on their account or would like to resolve an outstanding balance.
- Utilizing multiple payment methods (credit cards, HSA, electronic checks, etc.) while ensuring the information stays secure and the integrity uncompromised.
- Ability to foresee trends in client’s accounts which may be used to more effectively work specific client portfolios or modify our strategies.
- Ability to assist disputes an individual may have regarding their balance owed or a potential issue the individual may have with an invoice in a respectable and calm manner.
- Ability to use automated systems and other technologies to better perform daily tasks such as
ADAD technology.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Functions:
Process payment information, process cancels, assist consumers in-person and over the phone with payments and information requests.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- At minimum a high school diploma or GED is required, and three months relevant experience is preferred
- Previous experience in healthcare billing, customer service, sales, collections, or a related role is preferred
- Knowledge of 3rd Party disclosure requirements and HIPAA preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly, utilizing proper grammar and telephone etiquette is preferred
- Prior PC and keyboard knowledge is required
- Ability to compute basic math calculations using addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages is required
COMMUNICATION/TEAMWORK SKILLS
- Employee has contact with individuals within their department and extensive external contact with consumers
TECHNOLOGY SKILLS
- Basic computer knowledge with the ability to adapt to a changing and evolving technical environment
- 35 WPM typing minimum required
- 10 Key calculator
- Phone skills and ability to manage voicemail and transfer calls efficiently
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Experience in healthcare fields a plus
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus with hiring bonus at 90 days
PHYSICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Hand dexterity
- Able to talk and hear
- Occasionally required to stand or walk and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
