Essential Duties
Audit payment requests for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established standards and procedures including approval authorization and coding; resolve any discrepancies. Run day-to-day operations in the absence of the Accounts Payable Manager. Perform data entry related to the Accounts Payable function. Perform weekly check runs or as needed and ensure consistency with vendor terms. Audit employee expense reports for compliance with reimbursement policies. Perform the Accounts Payable mail functions including opening, printing, sorting, electronically routing for approval, and tracking invoices; keep track of all unapproved invoices and follow up as necessary. Operate equipment to scan and transmit invoices for payment approval. Investigate and follow up on vendor inquiries and issues via phone or email, such as outstanding payments, vendor refunds, and returned payments. Ensure all vendor statements are reconciled and perform regular analysis of vendor accounts. Work with Purchasing to resolve discrepancies. Monitor invoice aging reports and resolve or document outstanding items. Monitor 1099 reporting and work with senior staff to resolve issues. Process void checks, including maintenance of positive pay. Handle on-line banking items such as entering wire transfer requests, inquiring on checks cashed and on void items. Maintain filing system and prepare materials for archive. Suggest policy and process improvements. Distribute and mail AP checks. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Assist with month end closing process. Maintain procedure documentation. Support additional accounting and financial reporting functions as needed. Collecting and analyzing data. Other duties as assigned.

Must have excellent math aptitude. SAP financial system computer programs (knowledge of Microsoft Office products required). Proficiency in Microsoft Office required. Strong Excel skills required. Experience with Microsoft Office applications Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Organizing work and setting priorities, including the ability to manage high volume of email. Able to lift 25lbs.

Work/Educational Experience
- Must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school or equivalent diploma and have the ability to obtain the appropriate licenses pursuant to the New York State Gaming Commission regulations.
- Bachelor’s Degree in (specify type) or related field
- OR Two (2) years’ experience in a Supervisory position
- OR Two (2) years’ experience as a Level II in the hiring position’s Department
