The Energy Efficiency Outreach Coordinator acts as a key contact working with our Trade Allies including, contractors, distributors, manufacturers, vendors, architects, engineering firms, and service providers, individually and in group settings, to build relationships and maximize participation in MidAmerican Energy Company’s energy efficiency programs.
We are currently seeking an Energy Efficiency Outreach Coordinator to provide coverage for MidAmerican Energy’s territory in Western Iowa (Sioux City, Council Bluffs).

Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducts outreach, educates and assists trade allies so they may effectively participate in and promote MidAmerican Energy Company’s energy efficiency programs.
- Develops, manages and strengthens relationships with Trade Allies.
- Develops and executes outreach strategies to recruit new trade allies and retain current trade ally partners.
- Delivers sales and program training presentations to provide trade allies with an understanding of the value of incentive programs.
- Helps trade allies identify qualifying projects and associated incentives.
- Supports trade ally application completion, submission, and follow up.
- Responds to program inquiries.
- Trains and supports trade allies to use new software programs.
- Completes on-site project verifications.
- Represents MidAmerican Energy at industry trade shows and customer home shows.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree or 5 years industry experience.
- 2 or more years of experience in a related field such as professional sales, account management, marketing, business management, customer service or project management.
- A background in construction, HVAC, mechanical, building controls, utility Demand Side Management (DSM), energy efficiency design, or other building-related experience is preferred.
- Confidence with the ability to quickly build trusting relationships and sell concepts at all levels of an organization.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple time-sensitive tasks simultaneously and be a customer-focus problem solver.
- Strong proficiency in developing and delivering formal presentations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
- Possess a valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle to visit contractor and customer sites.
- Must be able to travel locally, up to approximately 50% of the time (mainly day travel in the local area).
