The BIM Existing Conditions Specialist, in conjunction with the BIM-EX Project manager, forwards the support and delivery of existing conditions Revit model projects.
The BIM-EX Specialist will play an active role within the BIM-EX team developing architectural, structural, and / or MEP models of existing structures from point cloud data and supporting plan sets.
The role will include working as part of the existing 3D Services BIM team alongside the Reality Capture group and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) teams.
Responsibilities :
- Participate in internal team meetings to review scope of modeling and level of development.
- Perform Revit based architectural, structural, and / or MEP modeling from existing conditions point clouds.
- Provide updates to BIM-EX Project Manager as to progress timelines and deadlines.
- Perform review and coordination of existing plan sets or third-party models to ensure geospatial relation of data.
- Modeling to USIBC Level of Development 200 or 300 for existing conditions from point clouds.
- Provide support for VDC tasks and modeling scope as defined by the VDC team on modeling specific tasks.
Required Qualifications and Skills :
- 2 years industry experience or related college experience.
- At least 2 years of Revit experience.
- Previous experience with using point clouds as a basis for modeling is a strong plus.
- AutoCAD, Navisworks experience is a strong plus but not required.
- Understand Revit Worksets and Family based modeling.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Time management skills and self-motivation mindset.
- Strong troubleshooting and solution-oriented approach to problem solving.
