ReSOURCE is looking for a Retail Store Manager to lead our largest and highest sales volume thrift retail store in Williston, Vermont. ReSOURCE is an innovative non-profit organization with the mission of waste reduction, job skill training and poverty relief. What the Retail Store Manager Does

ReSOURCE, and this position, are at the forefront of climate change by diverting reusable goods from our landfill. ReSOURCE, and this position, help our community by making reusable goods available a low cost to our communities.

Every day the Retail Store Manager ensures we provide top notch customer service at every interaction, keeps a clean and organized store, and manages staff schedules. In addition, the Retail Store Manager mentors, coaches and role models of exceptional customer service and professionalism.

Big picture, the Retail Store Manager works with the General Manager and other Store Managers to ensures smooth operations of a 7-day per week store. The Retail Store Manager finds value in the talents and experience in our staff and works alongside them to bring out the best in what they offer. The Retail Store Manager also finds value in donated goods and takes initiative to be educated about items.

Work Schedule & Environment

Hours – 40 hour per week and occasionally more as needed, shared weekends are expected

Store Hours – Monday through Saturday 10AM – 6PM, Sunday 10AM – 5PM

Location – ReSOURCE’s Williston Store, no remote work available

Compensation – $41,600 annual salary

This position is supervised by the General Manager, who has worked at ReSOURCE for over 6 years in many positions and has extensive knowledge of thrift and sales. In her 7 years she's worked in both our retail and training departments and brings a commitment to providing workforce development to the retail department.

The Williston store team is as committed to each other and having fun as they are to the role they play in running the store. The break room frequently has homemade food, we celebrate birthdays together, and there's regular laughter on the floor.

Job Requirements

The Retail Store Manager must know how to lead, supervise, and develop a team who rotate shifts and come with a diverse set of skills. They must see their success through the success of others. The Retail Store Manager must be able to lift up to 50 pounds daily and up to 100 pounds occasionally using equipment.

They must be naturally curious in their approach to customers by engaging with donors and shoppers and be naturally curious about items by educating themselves on the products that come through the doors.

They'll learn concepts specific to thrift retail and the many ways to keep goods out of the waste stream and will be part of the management team engaging in 3 years of professional training in diversity, equity and inclusion at ReSOURCE.
