: Restaurant 1796 – St Francisville

Centered around a 10' wood-fired hearth, Restaurant 1796 prides itself on fresh Southern ingredients finished to perfection over an open fire. In a reverent nod to the history of the property, most of the dishes have either passed through or somehow been touched by the hearth. Guests are encouraged to choose individual main proteins and then fill the table with small plates and shareables handcrafted from local, market fresh produce.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Pastry Chef to join our culinary team on either a part-time or full-time basis. The Pastry Chef will be responsible for creating and executing our dessert menu, as well as overseeing all aspects of pastry production in our kitchen. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in fine dining establishments and a passion for creating innovative and visually stunning desserts.

  • Develop and execute dessert menus that reflect our culinary philosophy and seasonal ingredients
  • Prepare a variety of desserts, pastries, and baked goods from scratch, ensuring high quality and consistency
  • Manage inventory and ordering of pastry ingredients and supplies
  • Maintain a clean and organized pastry station, following food safety and sanitation standards
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to coordinate dessert offerings with the main menu
  • Stay updated on current pastry trends and techniques, and incorporate new ideas into our menu
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in a fine dining restaurant or upscale bakery
  • Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, including baking, decorating, and plating
  • Creativity and attention to detail, with a passion for creating visually stunning desserts
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Culinary degree or certification in pastry arts is preferred, but not required

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $20.00 per hour
