Resthave Care & Rehabilitation is looking for a self-driven and experienced Director of Nursing to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Nursing facility. The D.O.N. will provide passionate leadership for the residents and staff. Applicants must have strong people skills and place importance on fostering good resident, family, and staff relationships. Applicants must have a current Illinois R.N. license. Experience with Skilled care/Medicare processes is preferred.

Some Duties May Include:

· Ensure the facility is in compliance with all Federal and State Regulations to assist the nursing department in meeting the day-to-day needs of the resident.

· Maintain and periodically update the Nursing Department Policy and Procedures Manual.

· Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Administrator, as necessary/required, concerning the operation of the nursing department including the needs of the residents as well as the department’s ability to meet those needs.

· Develop methods for coordination of nursing services with other departments within the facility to ensure the continuity of the resident’s total regimen of care.

· Maintain an ongoing quality assurance program for the nursing department.

· Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, charting, etc., as necessary.

· Coordinate physician visits as necessary. Encourage attending physicians to record and sign progress notes, physicians’ orders, etc., on a timely basis and in accordance with current regulations.

· Review nurses’ documentation to ensure that they are informative and descriptive of the nursing care being provided, that they reflect the resident’s response to the care, and that such care is provided in accordance with the resident’s wishes. Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules to ensure that medications are being administered as ordered and that treatments are provided as scheduled.

· Schedule regular rounds to observe residents and to determine if nursing needs are being met in accordance with the resident’s request and per current guidelines. Provide direct nursing care if necessary.

· Assure Resident Safety

· Assist with coordination of the nursing department scheduling and assignments.

· Provide education and training to ensure competency of staff within the nursing department as well as other departments as indicated.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
