About The Position

Reporting to the Chief Program Officer, the Director of Housing is responsible for an ever-growing housing model to address a diverse spectrum of housing needs for survivors of trafficking. The Director of Housing will lead all aspects of the Restore housing program including people leadership, strategy, financial management, impact evaluation and development, and partner collaboration (e.g. landlords, hotels, shelters, etc.)

Specific Responsibilities

  • Lead Restore’s housing program, including supervision of the housing team
  • Oversee development and oversight of the housing budget on a yearly, mid-year, and monthly basis
  • Analyze key outcomes across housing services and iterate based on findings to improve program quality
  • Execute all housing-specific grants (government and private) per stated program deliverables and approved budgets, including providing detailed program reporting
  • Identify barriers to housing stability and create solutions to reduce barriers and link survivors to resources and services as it relates to housing
  • Implement “Housing First” philosophy and strategies in housing interventions
  • Implement “Low-barrier” model to access housing
  • Formulate strategies to cultivate strong relationships and partnerships with community stakeholders (e.g., hotels, hostels, shelters, landlords, management companies, etc.) to foster cross-sector collaboration. This aims to enhance independent and emergency housing opportunities for program participants
  • Develop comprehensive internal policies and procedures for the Housing Program as well as provide updates as needed
  • Conduct research on housing program regulations and industry standards
  • Represent Restore externally on housing-related committees, task forces, and special projects as relevant
  • Ensure clear communication and training of new policies to all relevant staff across programs
  • Participate in the Restore Leadership team meetings
  • Practice trauma-informed, culturally- and linguistically- -sensitive, survivor-centered practices in all interactions with clients, staff, service provider organizations, and other stakeholders

Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and external partnerships
  • Experience in the field of housing, NYC housing subsidies, landlord and property management engagement with a thorough understanding of tenant’s and landlord rights and responsibilities
  • Proficiency in trauma-informed care
  • Demonstrated knowledge of community resources, social service agencies, and landlords
  • Possess strong organizational skills with the ability to meet a demanding workload
  • Critical thinker with a strategic mindset with the ability to provide thought leadership
  • Team player with the proven ability to influence and collaborate with others to drive results
  • Established knowledge of residential, non-residential, and supportive housing services and shelter models
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to represent the organization externally across a wide range of stakeholders and constituencies

Requirements

  • Affirm the Nicene Creed and attend a Christian church
  • 4 years of leadership experience
  • 3 years of prior experience in one or more of the following service areas: trauma-informed care, survivors of human trafficking, survivors of gender-based violence, immigrant/refugee population, homelessness
  • Experience managing multiple grants (OVW or HUD preferred)
  • Master’s Degree in social service-related field (strongly preferred)
  • Excellent knowledge of New York City housing and social services systems
  • Demonstrated commitment to the values of diversity, inclusiveness, and empowerment

Compensation

The salary range is $90,000- $100,000. Restore provides a comprehensive benefits package, including 401(k) matching, HSA/FSA, 15 vacation days, 4 spiritual retreat days, unlimited health days, parental leave, a flex-time policy, and major medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance, as well as commuter benefits.

Job Location

This job is based in New York City and is hybrid.
