What are the responsibilities and job description for the Janitor position at Retirement Housing Foundation?
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Self-starter
- Able to work alone
- Complete general housekeeping in complex and apartments as needed
- Complete work orders
- Assist maintenance person as needed
- Complete cleaning and painting on transfers and move-ins/outs
- Assist on grounds as needed
- Maintain and update inventory of supplies and equipment
- Report any problems, deficiencies or breakage immediately to Manager
- Follow preventive housekeeping/maintenance schedule and keep up to date
- Assist with apartment inspections and annual apt upkeep items
- Able to stoop, bend, squat, shovel snow, raking and lift to 50# i.e.
- refrigerator and stove
- Able to climb ladder and steps
- Clean overhead light fixtures per schedule
- Assist in dispose of recycle biweekly
- Remove snow and ice as necessary, spread ice melt as needed see snow removal policy and log
- Inspect lighting interior, exterior and exit and hallway safety fixtures weekly. Change bulbs as needed. Adjust automatic timer as needed.
- Vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, washing windows, striping and waxing tile floors, painting, pulling weeds, washing walls, cleaning bathrooms, carpet cleaning
Perform daily cleaning tasks in assigned areas such as:
- Offices
- Lobbies, Entry, Elevators
- Restrooms
- Community Room and Kitchen
- Library
- Game Room
- Laundry Rooms
- Trash Rooms
Other areas to be maintained:
- Hallways (including lobby in each hall)
- Stairwells
- Elevator Tracks
As stated above, daily tasks include Sweeping, Mopping, Dusting, Cleaning all Glass
Additional duties that may need required include Stripping and Buffing Tiled Areas
