Hazmat Dispatcher

We are looking for a Dispatcher to join our team and help coordinate our fleet of hazmat tractor trailers. The ideal candidate will have experience in dispatching. The Dispatcher will be responsible for scheduling routes, monitoring vehicle locations, and ensuring that all vehicles are in compliance with safety regulations. The successful candidate will also be able to handle billing issues and inquiries in a professional manner and provide timely updates on any changes in service.

Responsibilities:

· Build trust and credibility by holding yourself, all department directors and managers, and all co-workers to the company's code of business ethics policies, and procedures.

· Dispatching and managing a TEAM of Local CDL-A Hazmat Drivers across multiple locations.

· Route planning, reviewing, scheduling, and timing.

· Maintaining driver attendance and maximizing equipment utilization.

· Load coordinating, matching and management.

· Strict follow up and expedited response, both inside and outside of the company.

· Improving driver efficiency and performance.

· Fluent communication and operation with all dispatch locations.

· Work in conjunction with other key departments within the company to contribute to established goals.

· Foster and grow a strong safety culture.

Complete and pass a criminal history record check and employment history verification. A federal-level drug and alcohol-free status must be supported for the duration of employment and monitored through pre-employment, random, and reasonable suspicion drug testing requirements.

Education: · Minimum 1-3 years of related work experience

· Extensive experience in logistics, safety, and dispatch

· Supervisor experiencing preferred.

· In-depth knowledge of DOT compliance, laws, rules, regulations, and safety

* Minimum High School Diploma – Higher degree preferred

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

· Strong attention to detail and possess a high level of accuracy.

· Proven ability to detect concerns using analytical and problem-solving skills

· Ability to forecast future consequences and trends accurately

· Must be highly organized and possess the ability to prioritize

· Must possess the ability to provide follow up to drivers and dispatch team

· Comfortable working in a high-stress environment and

· Ability to stay calm under pressure

· Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain positive relationships with the driver team and other business units

· Strong communication skills (oral, written, and listening) with motivational ability

· Possess effective verbal and listening skills

· Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with time constraints, and interruptions

Work may require more than 40 hours per week

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,500.00 - $63,000.00 per year
