Job Title: Quality Assurance Specialist
Department: Quality Control
FLSA Status: Exempt Non-exempt
JOB SUMMARY: Reynolds Systems Inc. (RSI) is a Defense contractor that develops, manufactures and tests energetic components for the US Military and its contractors. RSI is looking for a Quality Control
Specialist to be responsible for the inspection of incoming components and ensure that the reports and documentation of the inspections is completed in a timely manner. The Quality Control Specialist will report to the Quality Control Supervisor and will work with engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely may be required as deemed necessary by supervisory personnel.
- Read and understand product drawings, specifications and procedures.
- Review purchase orders to understand and carry out the requirements of the P.O.
- Use of calipers, micrometers, digital indicators, precision scales and other inspection equipment.
- Use Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Create Inspection Templates.
- Create Standard Operating Procedures as needed.
- Maintain calibration equipment and related records.
- Determine disposition of internal and external non-conforming materials.
- Prioritize with deadlines.
- Responsible for courteous, efficient response at all times.
- Be aware of and operate within OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and company safety policies at all times.
- Responsible for thorough knowledge of company policies.

- General Knowledge of Quality Systems such as ISO 9000 or AS9100.
- General Knowledge of ASTM standards.
- Understand acceptance sampling by lot and use of sampling plans.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Self-motivation and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to take initiative, to maintain confidentiality, to meet deadlines and to work in a team environment.
- Ability to make decisions that are appropriate to the job at hand and based on their skill set, but also be able to know when to refer decision making to a higher authority.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- High School Diploma
- Must be a US Citizen and meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
- Ability to communicate effectively either written or verbally. Must have English composition skills.
- Must be able to perform basic math.
Preferred:
- Associates degree
- Related job experience in quality assurance
