WE ARE LOOKING FOR A BUYER III

SENIORITY LEVEL: Experienced Non-Management Level
FUNCTION: Operations
LOCATION: Winston-Salem, NC

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?
This role is responsible for strategic planning and the procurement process for assigned goods and services while exercising good business and analytical skills. The ideal candidate will be able to develop, manage, and maintain supplier relationships to ensure goods and services availability at optimum pricing, quality, and delivery. Negotiation of terms, pricing and metrics is a key accountability.

What is the direct impact of this role on the team or organization?
This role will deal primarily with the oversight of procurement Merchandising Materials (Semi & Permanent Merchandising) and Trade Marketing Services (Retail Audit Services, Merchandising Installation Services, etc.)

Reports to: Senior Manager Procurement
Core Relationships: Internal – Consumer and Trade Marketing Internal Clients External- Vendors
Geographic Scope: Local

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
Collaborate with client groups to define and communicate item or service specifications and requirements.
Benchmark category performance and apply market research and analysis for recommendations to client groups.
Support strategic planning and the Procurement process for assigned goods and services while exercising good business and analytical skills.
Develop, manage, and maintain supplier relationships to ensure goods and services availability at optimum pricing, quality, and delivery.
Analyze quotations for accuracy, completion and contract compliance, and make sourcing recommendations.
Communicate with clients, suppliers, and other Procurement staff to ensure the timely delivery of, and payment for, required materials or services.
Utilizing third party resources, manage the creation and management of contracts, RFx initiatives and auctions.
Negotiate terms, pricing, and metrics.
Perform Spend analysis and category analysis to develop recommendations for issue resolution.

CAN THIS BE YOUR FUTURE ROLE?
Have you had experience negotiating contracts?
Have you worked directly in merchandising and or Trade Marketing services functions from a procurement perspective?
Are you familiar with SAP or other similar ERP systems?

ESSENTIAL
Experience Required
Broad understanding of procurement categories and/or commodities focused on Marketing Merchandising materials and Trade Marketing Services
Strong functional knowledge of computers and information systems
SAP knowledge/experience

Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required
Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to make sound and timely decisions in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships

Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required
High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of relevant work experience, or Associates with 4 years of experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or related field and 2 years relevant work experience
