What are the responsibilities and job description for the DAILY PROCESSOR – PHARMACY TECHNICIAN position at RezCare Pharmacy?
JOB SUMMARY: To assist the pharmacist in generating and reviewing accurate labels in accordance to the request of physicians. Responsible for but not limited to inputting orders in a timely and accurate manner stay with in workflows deadlines, and ensure proper and accurate patient medical record such as EMAR, appropriate paperwork to patient and facility. Provide great customer service while communicating between doctors, patients and their caretakers.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
2. Current Pharmacy Technician License preferred
3. 1 year processing and medical terminology experience preferred
4. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced working environment
5. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimal and to compute rate, ratio and percent
6. Ability to read, comprehend, analyze and interpret data
7. Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language
8. Strong detailed oriented, organized, resourceful, analytical, and accurate typing skills with minimal errors
9. Strong team work, listening, considerate of others and customer service skills
10. Accuracy, reliability, accountability, punctuality, ability to handle stressful / difficult situations
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other assignments, projects, and duties may be required:
· Ensure all orders are entered into the system timely and accurately with required prescriptions and payer information, authorization details, days’ supply, quantity, refill information, sig and cycle medications in accordance to facility
· Follow policies to ensure compliance and effectiveness with process
· Resolving insurance issues/ Prior Authorizations and communicate with payee in regards to financial inquires
· Print labels for filling department in a timely manner
· Answer phone calls for refill authorization from doctors’ offices and to provide customer/patient/facility and staff inquires and issues
· Preform workflow activities to meet turnaround time deadlines and ensure customer/patient/facility and staff needs are being met or facilitated
· Consult with pharmacist(s) regarding prescriptions order clarification, and other prescriptions problems or concerns
· Act as a team player and must be willing to perform all tasks needed to improve workflows
· Collaborating with other departments to meet the goals and objectives of the company
· Able to decipher doctor orders, type prescription & non- prescription medication
· Ability to act with urgency, ownership and follow through
· Typing up new prescriptions/ refills
· Ability to process orders and send them out in a timely manner
· Troubleshoot insurance issues
· On call duties include, must be available after hours to provide customer service via telephone
· Other duties as assigned
