Job Summary:
- Candidates must be able and comfortable with collecting blood efficiently and accurately.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to successfully draw blood efficiently and accurately.
- Performed blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
- Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
- Process specimens, label tubes, putting tubes in proper containers.
- Follow departmental policies to correctly identify the patient before any specimen is obtained.
- Follow Universal Precautions and all OSHA standards when handling specimens.
- Strictly adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Maintain neat, clean, orderly patient/work areas always.
- Provided superior customer service to all patients
Education and Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program
- Must have a certificate in phlebotomy.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Familiarity with medical terminology preferred.
- Valid motor vehicle license and reliable transportation.
