Grader Operator

Job Location : Jonesboro, AR. Mill L

Hourly Pay Range : $16.07- $18.23

7pm-7am 12 Hour shift

Job Description

  • The main functions of this position are : To pick sample’s to insure rice is in specification, Learn the control room to be able to help out when needed, to insure the machinery is operating at maximum efficiency and to perform light maintenance on machinery as needed;
  • to keep clean drums in the grader; to keep paddy machines properly adjusted, floor area clean, to keep all edible and non-edible containers empty;

to assist the supervisor as needed; to keep the broken(s) in the rice to a specified level and to insure a smooth flow of rice through work area.

Job Duties

Other duties may be assigned. Responsible for food safety by following HACCP and Food Safety policies / procedures. Responsible for plant safety by observing persons entering your work area, asking if you can assist them and reporting unauthorized persons to your supervisor.

Attend training as required or approved by supervisor.

  • To keep work area clean; ; take hourly samples and record results on Specification sheet; to change or tighten belts as necessary;
  • to keep feeders operating smoothly; monitor all equipment in the area to insure maximum production; complete cleaning schedules perform minor maintenance as needed;
  • effectively communicate with other operators on shift; monitor and adjust paddy machines as necessary to maintain desired quality of rice;
  • keep floor area clean; keep product picked up off the floor and cut back in; do any SPC chart assigned; operate the forklift in a safe and orderly manner;
  • fill out preventive maintenance and pre-operation check list on forklift; to fill LP gas bottle as needed; to check and adjust, if necessary, all drums on the Mod Flow and eleven graders;
  • to gather and analyze samples; to record results on control charts; to monitor all machinery in work area; to insure proper operation of this machinery;

to work in other areas as assigned by supervisor; to wear personal protective equipment as needed; to work safely.

Education Requirements

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
