What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Technician - Temporary position at RiceTec, Inc.?
Key Functions
- Review functional safety training for New/Re-Hires, crop cycle, and full-time employees.
- In conjunction with the EH&S Manager, work with subject matter experts in creating instructor-led, written, and possibly video training materials.
- Develop/present training for visitors and contractors.
- Work with EH&S Manager and Safety Committees to coordinate audits and review program procedures such as confined space, LOTO, JSA’s, etc.
- Work with EH&S Manager to assist with medical treatment of injured employees.
- Work closely with relevant departments to promote safety and establish visibility on a weekly basis.
- Compile safety KPI metrics and update monthly/quarterly reports. Provide required KPI reporting for all RiceTec training.
- Review functional safety training for New/Re-Hires, crop cycle, and full-time employees.
- Other Duties as assigned.
- On-site work required.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years’ experience in a safety related capacity, building/presenting training materials (PowerPoint or video related), hold safety meetings/toolbox safety meetings, writing and reviewing JSA’s, and performing audits.
- High School diploma, some college or accredited safety certifications, Associate Degree preferred.
- Proven examples of teamwork. Proven examples of caring and respecting workforce. Proven examples of innovation.
- Exposed to agriculture or life sciences environments helpful, but not necessary.
- Valid Driver License required.
Requirements
- Candidate must be able to lift 30 lb. with or without reasonable accommodation, climb ladders and stairs, work in hot or humid environments and all other weather climates.
