Plant Operations Support Specialist

Rich's Ice Cream is currently looking for an Operations Support Specialist to join our team. The Operations Support Specialist will be responsible and accountable for supporting the Sr. Operations Manager in overseeing the efficiency of production throughout our manufacturing facility. This includes making sure all quality and safety standards are being met across these areas while continually looking for process improvement and manufacturing optimization opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Determine proper staffing requirements and develop scheduling of employees that is the most cost effective and avoids overtime.
• Assist in identifying cost improvement opportunities.
• Develop and monitor the execution of action plans to implement approved necessary changes.
• Interact with other departments to gather input, handle concerns, and educate management on recommended processes.
• Promote an environment of creativity and partnering among all departments.
• Participate in staffing, recruiting, and training for areas of responsibility.
• Create a work culture that yields a highly disciplined workforce by nurturing and leading employees.
• Support new product development by participating in test runs.
• Ensure compliance with all government regulations.
• Assist in enforcing compliance with HACCP, GMP, FSSC, safety policies and company policies.
• Maintain a clean, effective, efficient, orderly, and safe plant.
• Direct plant policies and procedures and manage plant safety procedures and reporting.
• Review production schedules to determine proper sequencing of manufacturing to minimize waste and labor costs.
• Produce and manage the execution of the Operations Employee Schedule.
• Create and develop new methods, operational procedures, and systems in production management to improve efficiency and performance.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to maximize labor, realize cost savings, reduce material waste, and eliminate down time.
• Maintain adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, quality specifications, and safety standards.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a food manufacturing plant.
• Must be a good communicator.

• Must be hands on.
• Experience with CIP systems, homogenizers, presses, and other ice cream manufacturing equipment is a plus.

• Experience with production planning, quality, project management, continuous improvement, maintenance, food processing and food safety practices.
• Ability to recruit, lead, coach and develop employees.
• Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with all team members.
• Ability to drive change with a positive attitude.
• Ability to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
